Lately the whole office where I work has been getting sick and winter being in full blown here in Australia I have been trying to avoid getting sick by eating well and drinking lots of water and herbal teas. One of my favourite is lemon and ginger and I sometimes add a drop of honey if I feel a sore throat or sickness coming up. So far it has helped me stay healthy and it inspired me to make some bliss balls using this winning flu and cold fighting flavour combination: lemon, ginger and honey.
So read below for this lemon ginger and honey bliss ball recipe. If you do not like ginger that much I advise you leave it out or only put a tiny bit. My husband did not like those bliss balls but I loved them so I think it is more of a taste preference.
Recipe:
- 1 cup of raw cashews
- 1 tbsp of tahini
- 4 drops of Doterra lemon essential oil or zest of 1 lemon
- 1 cm piece of ginger
- 1 tbsp of raw honey
- 1/2 tsp of water or more if needed
- In a food processor or blender mix the cashews;
- Add in the tahini and honey;
- Add in your essential oil or the lemon zest;
- Grate the ginger and add it in (less if you do not like it);
- Keep mixing and add some water if required to get a smoother bliss ball dough;
- Make bliss balls with your hands;
- Keep in the fridge for up to a week.
You now have a perfect winter health boosting snack! Perfect for the cold and flu season!
